Flowmaster Exhaust
Flowmaster Exhaust Review
What does flowmaster exhaust have to offer?
Flowmaster exhaust has been around since the early 80's
and were not afraid to get their nose dirty to get it right. They constantly have improved their exhaust
system to get the sound, performance and craftsmanship that appeals to auto enthusiasts everywhere. What exactly do
they have to offer? We will briefly answer that as well as include a Flowmaster exhaust review.

True Dual - Complete dual exhaust systems with
plenty of choices to get the sound you are looking for. This option is depending upon the vehicle.
Header Back - As the name suggest this exhaust by
flowmaster includes everything from the header back to and including the exhaust tips unless otherwise
posted depending upon the vehicle.
Cat Back - This includes everything from the
catalytic converter (not including the catalytic converter) back to the tailpipe tips, including the tips unless
otherwise posted depending upon the vehicle.
There are different options within the groups above such
as rear exit or side exit. The options that are available for your vehicle can be seen by hitting the buy
button below and run your vehicle through it.
There are two different main systems Flowmaster has to
offer. The American Thunder system which is a more aggressive type of exhaust system and the Force II which is
quieter than the American Thunder but will still improve horsepower and gas mileage.
Flowmaster Exhaust Review
American Thunder
I have done some checking around and here is what I found people are
saying about the Flowmaster exhaust American Thunder.
Good Points:
-
Many said that this system has a great sound.
-
Some said they were very pleasantly surprised the difference they
received with just a single application.
-
Many said they noticed an increase in horsepower right away.
-
Lots said they noticed anywhere from a complete 1 mpg to a few mpg in
fuel saving if you can keep yourself from laying on the throttle to enjoy the growl the exhaust system
creates.
-
An over abundant amount of people say they would recommend this system
and if you are on the fence, just buy it, Its worth it.
-
Nice growl, not obnoxiously loud.
Bad Points:
-
Many say the exhaust system is of good quality but the clamps suck. They
didn't actually say "suck" but more or less this is what they were saying.
-
Some said they were surprised the side exits came out in front of the
wheels rather than behind the wheels.
-
A few said they got a little droan noise in the cab.
-
A few said that it was not quite as loud as they wished it would
be.
Suggestion made by some:
-
Buy new clamps before install, they are very inexpensive and
much better quality than the system provides.
-
A few said they much preferred to get the system welded rather than
clamped for a better seal and eliminate any droan noise.
-
A couple suggested to make sure you use the rubber grommets on the
hangers to eliminate droan noise.
-
Make sure parts are completely on before tightening
clamps.
-
A sawzall with a metal cutting blade would make life much easier for
removing the old exhaust.

Flowmaster Exhaust Review
Force II
As I have done with the American Thunder I will now do
a Flowmaster exhaust review for Foce II with the research I have done. This may help you decide which one is
better for you.
Good Points:
-
Lots said, nice low rumble at lower speads and cruising, nice growl when
accelerating.
-
A great many said they were looking for an exhaust system that was not
real loud like the hot rods but is just a bit meatier than stock but also sounds impressive when you
lay on the pedal and levels off again when cruising. They found this system to be perfect.
-
Lots said, best price and perfect customer service from site I send you
to with the buy button below.
-
Many said they had no problem recommending this system to friends.
-
Lots said, noticeable power increase.
-
Quite a few said increased fuel mileage from 1 mpg to over 2 mpg.
-
Neighbor friendly exhaust but still impressive when hitting the
pedal.
Bad Points:
-
A couple people mentioned that this system is not as loud as they would
have liked.
-
Poor clamps included with Flowmaster Force II exhaust.
-
The odd person says, not as much mpg increase as hoped for.
Suggestions:
-
Some say for even more horsepower gain and a richer sound add a cold air
intake.
-
Some but not a lot say they prefer to have the system welded rather than
use clamps.
-
Some say buy some different clamps rather than using the clamps
included.
-
A couple suggest to use a reciprocation saw with metal blade to remove
old exhaust.

Remember when you are making a decision which exhaust
system is right for you, the american thunder exhaust is meant to be louder than the force II. The force II is
realatively slightly louder than OEM but has a nice growl while accelerating. Both add horsepower and slight mpg
increase. I hope the Flowmaster review has been of help. Whichever Flowmaster exhaust you choose I am sure you will be quite delighted with your
purchase.
